Condover Hall Activity Weekend

Last weekend, a group of 27 KS3 students participated in sporting activities in Shropshire.
We had 2 football teams playing in a full-day tournament on Saturday and 1 netball team playing in a tournament over the 2 days. Pupils enjoyed plenty of free time when they could choose any of the drop-in activities, including abseiling, climbing, archery, aeroball, aerial assault, laser quest and more.
Both football teams did the school proud, all showing so much strength and resilience, especially when playing against the boys teams. Both teams finished 3rd in their group stages, taking them both through to the Silver Cup semi-finals. The A team won their semi-final 7-0, making it through to the Silver Cup final, where they sadly lost 3-1 to St Gabriels boys. The B team lost their semi-final, but finished with a 5-0 win in the play-off for 3rd place. Well done to all our goalscorers; Brook Ridgely (12), Tilly Judges (7), Brooke Folley (6), Bish Price (3), Amber Howells (3), Maisie Hanks (3) and Immy Jones (2). The A team player of the tournament went to Immy for solid defending and B team player of the tournament went to Brooke R for her attacking prowess.
Our combined year 8 and 9 netball team played against some incredibly good teams but absolutely held their own throughout. We played 4 games on Saturday and another 4 games on Sunday, getting wins on both days and significantly improving over the course of the weekend, with our final game being a win against a team we had lost to on the Saturday. The girls finished 4th in the group and played some brilliant netball in the process. Player of the tournament went to Evie Hine for her fantastic defensive display.
