Term 5 has seen our fourth, final and definitely fantastic lunchtime platforms of the academic year.
In stark contrast to the warm sunny days of the March practice expedition, the May qualifying expedition was a wintery affair with cold wet weather. This did not put off our groups with around 60 students completing either their Bronze or Silver expedition section.
On Friday, we took our SV Flow Table Cricket team to compete in the national finals at Lord’s Cricket Ground in London.
On Friday 17th April, we took our Year 7 rugby squad on our annual tour to Swansea.
Our biggest ever Bronze cohort and a group of Silver participants braved the cold nights to complete their practice expeditions last weekend.
On Wednesday, the music department took a group of 34 KS3 students to The Music Works to complete a recording of ‘On Top of the World’ by Imagine Dragons. This was a continuation of the Big Sing which culminated in some rousing tutor group performances back in term 2.
On Friday 13th February, 41 students and 5 members of staff met at school in the early hours of the morning to embark on the journey to Paris. Despite the lack of sleep, all were excited to experience the sights and culture of France’s capital city as part of their GCSE French course.
Our third lunchtime platforms of the academic year and first of 2026 have been an exciting and immensely enjoyable experience for all our performers and their audiences.
On Thursday, 30 Year 7 students participated in an exciting and inspiring poetry slam workshop led by poet 'Spoz'. The theme of this year's session was 'play', which students interpreted in a variety of imaginative ways.
This term, students from Year 10 headed down to London for the day to visit Westminster and have a tour of both the House of Commons and the House of Lords.
