Severn Vale School Careers Fair

Year 10 and Year 11 students enjoyed beneficial careers support during at our annual Careers Fair.

Year 10 and Year 11 students enjoyed beneficial careers support at our annual Careers Fair, held on Tuesday 14th October, one element of a substantial careers education, information, advice and guidance program in place at school.  With approximately 60 organisations present, from a wide range of advisory bodies, apprenticeship agencies, colleges, employers, school 6th forms, training providers and universities, generously giving up their time to help our students - everyone found plenty of interest, and received help to make informed choices about the future.

Parents and carers have a substantial influence on their child’s decisions regarding choice of Post 16 education or training, and career focus.  For the first time this year, our Careers Fair carried on after school and was opened up to all students and parents.  Many younger students took advantage of the event to begin their research, especially those in Year 9 who start to look at GCSE Choices soon.  Parents welcomed the opportunity to update their own knowledge of local provision in order to support their child.

A huge thank you must go out to all of the organisations who supported this event.
