Attendance Support Mentor

Salary: £19698 - £22183 (pro rata)

  • 41 weeks per year (term time, inset and two weeks during school holidays), 37 hours per week
  • Permanent contract


Severn Vale School is an Academy which provides an inclusive secondary education for students aged 11-16, that delivers strong student outcomes through high quality teaching and outstanding pastoral care.  The school is proud of its inclusive credentials and, in an area that has retained selection, subscribe instinctively to the comprehensive ideal.  We are a popular and over-subscribed 11-16 academy, which has undergone an exciting build project which has enabled an increase in pupil admission numbers from 235 to 265 on entry.   


We are seeking to recruit an Attendance Support Mentor to improve the attendance of identified students. Working with the Attendance Improvement Manager and the Heads of Year, you will be able to implement strategies to achieve and maintain good levels of school attendance for students who are persistently absent.  You will be able to assess problems and provide solutions by working closely with students and their families, often in their own home, and improve the links between the school and the home.  Excellent communication and time management skills are essential. Mentoring experience is preferable.  You will need to be proactive, confident and have a resilient attitude.
